Columbia Chapter No. 1
The official online home of Columbia Chapter No. 1, a constituent Chapter of Capitular Masonry in the District of Columbia, dedicated to the pursuit of further light in Freemasonry.
The degree of the Holy Royal Arch is considered the completion of the Master Mason’s degree. In this degree, the Master’s Word that was lost is found, and members are exalted as Companions. We invite all Master Masons in good standing to continue their journey with us.
Further Light
Complete the Story the Craft Began
Most students of Freemasonry agree the story told in the three Craft degrees is incomplete. The York Rite completes it — and answers many of the questions in the mind of the newly made Master Mason.
What Is the Royal Arch?
Considered the completion of the Master Mason’s degree — where the lost Word is found, and members are exalted as Companions.
The Capitular Degrees
Mark Master, Past Master, Most Excellent Master, and the Royal Arch — four degrees conferred in a Chapter of Royal Arch Masons.
